About the event

In this introductory hand sewing lesson from 1 to 2.30 pm, we will teach a variety of stitches, including:

- Running stitch

- Tacking stitch

- Back stitch

- Herringbone stitch

- Blind hem stitch

- Buttonhole stitch

- Flat fell stitch

Each participant will then receive a pair of trousers to practice stitching and hemming. We will cover the basics, which will be applied in a practical project—creating a pouch bag—in subsequent sessions. Additionally, we will offer guidance on repairing holes in clothing, helping you mend and extend the life of your garments. This lesson is suitable for participants of all skill levels, from complete beginners to experienced sewers, and all materials will be provided.

Following the workshop, from 2.30 to 3pm, you can enjoy food and socialise with fellow women or receive signposting support.

We understand that the hardest part can sometimes be walking through the door, but our non-judgmental and friendly team will be there to support and encourage you every step of the way. If you have any concerns, please don't hesitate to call/message us at 07414 932 9022/rwnadmin@harrowwomenscentre.org.uk

We suggest a donation of £2 or more to support our services, which can be made online (https://wonderful.org/pay?fndr=1616) or in person at the event. However, if you're unable to contribute financially, please still join us. We value building a supportive community!

We would love to see you there! :)
