Our Story

Working towards a better tomorrow

Resourceful Women's network emerged as the continuation of the work of the Harrow Women's Centre, established in 1992. It was a place of safety for women and their children, where contact with Women’s Aid could be made, and also some legal advice sought and/or benefits information if necessary.  Gradually other activities were added that might appeal to women or that women themselves requested.

Since we no longer had a fixed centre, and we wanted to carry on the service in a more financially efficient manner by hire of rooms, and with an on line presence. Dealing with the challenges of today requires problem-solvers who bring different perspectives and are willing to take risks. Our aims are to help women in Harrow and surrounding areas who are in need, with support, information and signposting on a range of issues that affect them. In a variety of ways such as training for recreation and employment or other leisure time occupation for women.
We are an organisation driven by progressive ideas, bold actions, and a strong foundation of support.
